Flash BMP®

Reliable BMP in only 7 days

The Flash BMP® method measures methanogenic potential using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). The NIRS analyzes organic matter qualitatively, distinguishing between different families of molecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, fibers, etc.), but also quantitatively.

The Flash BMP measurement is based on the prediction of a mathematical model, calibrated on a database composed of hundreds of BMP measurements carried out with the biological reference method, on samples representative of the diversity of substrates used in anaerobic digestion.

The Flash BMP provides a reliable and robust estimate of a sample’s methanogenic potential, based on a measurement of its NIR spectrum. Once the NIR spectrum has been acquired, the model calculates the value of the methanogenic many types of organic product.

With several hundred measurements carried out each year, FLASH BMP® is becoming a benchmark method for rapidly and cost-effectively predicting the methanogenic potential of many types of organic products.
