The AMG-IT model gets the seal of approval!

Predicting changes in soil carbon stock

Since 1999, INRAE has been developing the AMG model, which simulates changes in soil organic carbon stocks. A direct result of this research, the AMG-IT model has been designed for use in service provision, to provide a simple, practical response to the problems faced by operators in the agricultural and industrial sectors. Now fully operational, AMG-IT has just been validated by the AMG consortium.

A service offering based on AMG

The Metys offer includes: • Assessing the carbon footprint of farming practices using the Low Carbon Label for Field Crops method; • Modelling carbon flows and the long-term effects of cropping and fertilization practices on soil carbon storage and the associated reductions in greenhouse gas emissions; • A comprehensive assessment of the impact of agricultural or industrial practices or projects, based on agronomic and environmental performance indicators, using an innovative approach combining carbon and nitrogen flow modelling tools (PROLEG, AMG-IT and STICS) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). These approaches, based on the latest innovations from INRAE’s research activities, can be used to measure or predict the agri-environmental performance of your activities, projects or organization, and to assess their resilience in the face of climate change. Metys experts are at your service to help you benefit from INRAE’s innovation and support your agricultural and environmental projects. Contact us!
