INRAE Transfert Eco-Design

The Metys Service dedicated to environmental assessment and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

INRAE Support Unit

UMR ITAP, the Elsa cluster and the Elsa-Pact chair

UMR ITAP, Technologies and Methods for Tomorrow’s Farming, is a joint research unit of INRAE and Institut Agro Montpellier. ITAP’s research focuses on studying and improving Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods.
ITAP is one of the founding members of the Elsa (Environmental and Sustainability Lifecycle Assessment) research group, dedicated to LCA and circular economy applied to agro-bio-processes. Elsa brings together about thirty researchers, teachers and students from several LCA laboratories and higher education institutions (CIRAD, IMT Mines Alès, INRAE, and the Institut Agro de Montpellier) to stimulate research and transfer in the field of eco-technologies.
Together with the members of Elsa, ITAP coordinates the Elsa-Pact corporate chair, based on a partnership between research, training and business, with the aim of promoting and disseminating “life cycle” thinking among public and private decision-makers, and supporting the development of sustainable industries that make the most of local resources.
